Unusual idea from a time when cops were generally thought to be infallible when it came to shootings.
There are commercial rifle scopes that do this.
The technology could definitely be adapted for a sidearm.
The big issue is likely that the police only want evidence that would potentially exonerate them, not convict them (and all without actually having to police their own behavior). Consequently it doesn’t matter if the technology is real or not. Johhny Law doesn’t want an impartial witness.
