the list includes Disqus? we used it here for a few years before @codinghorror and the Discourse team took over. It acted like a bloated piece of shit, if you asked me. Discourse blew it out of the water.
Unless Disqus has stepped their game up considerably in the ensuing 2 or so years, its inclusion on the list makes the whole thing suspect.

Disqus recently-ish added a standalone option so the discussions can have their own site. It is a bit odd:
Not sure what that was a reaction to, maybe Slack? Anyway our open source strategy sets us apart from most other solutions.
