I mean… this is the entire GOP strategy for decades now. At least within my living memory, they have never cared about governing or nuanced debate about what the role of government in a society ought to be. They care only about accumulating power. Previously they used that power to funnel wealth to themselves and their monacled buddies, but increasingly they’re using it for darker purposes.
