Texas mom arrested after her bully-revenge drink hospitalizes child

It was poisoning. You don’t need to use a toxic chemical for it to be poisoning. Making a drink that is unfit for human comsumption and telling your child to give it to another child is poisoning.

No. She was wrong, but it’s not poisoning.

And I’m not sure you’re replying to me about that… seems like you didn’t even read what I actually wrote.

You said it wasn’t poison. It was.

A dictionary definiton isn’t relevant and rhat definition doesn’t define poison is doubly irrelevant.

The Texas poison control center says:

A ‘poison’ is anything that can harm someone if it is used in the wrong way, by the wrong person, or in the wrong amount.

So I’m going to go with definition of the experts on poison in Texas.

Yep. Agree. Those are the ones that go on to be cops.

You know that everything is technically a poison right? It’s just a matter of dosage.

Exactly. “We investigated ourselves, and found nothing wrong!”

Both salt and vinegar are used in drinks (and plenty of people like it), and their LD-50 is so high that there would need to be more salt than could be easily dissolved in the amount of liquid present (and they’d have to drink the entire bottle).

It doesn’t take much salt and vinegar to make something taste unpleasant if you’re expecting something sweet. By your definition, I could accuse someone who likes more salt in their bloody mary than I do of poisoning me. You’re also making some very big assumptions, first, you don’t know how much of any of those ingredients was put into the drink (but you say you do), second you call it a horrible cocktail, again, you have no idea how much she used, or how it tasted.

The bully took the drink, it wasn’t for him.

You keep repeating the word harm…

You haven’t demonstrated it or offered any proof of the harm.

You’re awfully good at making strawmen though.

The report says she told her child to give it to him. It was custom made for the bully so yes it was for him.

It made the child sick the amount was clearly excessive. The reports say the “drink” was made of lemon, vinegar and salt". No other ingredients are mentioned.

It was poisoning. Stop indulging in revenege fantasies, this is no different from an adult punching a child in the stomach.

Making someone feel nauseous to the point they are taken to the hospital is harm.

Harm doesn’t have to be permanent and ususally isn’t.

wouh, careful…

this is no different from an adult punching a child in the stomach.

wouh now, come on!, …besides, he spat it out

He was made sick.

the bully said so, so it must be true. maybe you should read the whole thread before you repeat stuff already discussed in detail.

How do you get a bully to stop without causing them any harm, anyway? Or do you just accept the harm to the other kid, which was probably worse than a sip of vinegar?

Noted: If you’re gonna die on this hill anyway then at least use an effective poison.

Nobody in the thread knows anything about it other than what was reported and I have read multiple news reports.

You just accept it. Or you have the money to move. You cannot protect your child and no one will do it for you. Homeschooling or private tutoring are your options. People will blah blah blah about their ideals but the truth is those people have nothing, nothing that will help, no suggestions, and only a vague idea that you’ve done the bare minimum by suffering enough so that should make the problem go away (and it will… for them).

Some people just deserve to be harassed to death and deep down people just believe and accept that. In fact, if you don’t then you’re not a good or moral person and therefore deserve more abuse.

Do not react to the glaring contradiction here. It’s only for the bad people to react to. Good people are happy about this or comfortably resigned… or it doesn’t apply to them so they feel blessed rn.

Yeah, I get what she shouldn’t have done. I’m asking what she should. You don’t seem interested in that part, even though allowing bullying to continue is a serious harm too. Maybe if we don’t want things like this to happen, it will help if there are any other answers.

doesnt change the fact that you should, because thats how you do it in a written discussion with multiple discussants; to see if for instance your point already was made and answered. right?

Nobody in the thread knows anything about it other than what was reported and I have read multiple news reports.

regardless, someone in this thread could actually know more about it than you.
