This reminds me of an article I read years ago in the NY Times. Lynch comments that he got many of his ideas by sugaring up at a Bob’s Big Boy. A DARK LENS ON AMERICA - The New York Times
I’ve always loved Lynch’s work (film, painting, photography, furniture), even if I never understood much of it. This documentary went a long way to at least make Lynch the person more understandable. And his retelling of the time he showed his art to his father almost broke my heart.
This film is a beautifully made tribute to a very strange and important artist. 10/10 would recommend to my fellow smart weirdos.
My BF & I always watch his daily videos.
If anyone hasn’t read it, his biography/autobiography (alternates between chapters written by a biographer and his own recollections) Room to Dream is well worth the read. Highly recommended.
