It’s not just The Awl!! From the same “network of independent sites that includes The Awl, The Billfold and Splitsider”, The Hairpin has also shuttered as of yesterday. And The Billfold is trying to rebirth itself as a patron-supported site going forward. Splitsider seems to still be publishing on the regular at least.
