I’d like to mention “Pumzi” a short film from about 12 years ago by Kenyan film maker Wanuri Kahiu. I used to be able to find it on youtube, but all I can track down now are a couple of trailers and an interview with the director.
It’s a dystopian view of a globally warmed future where a tiny group of survivors live underground, hoarding water. The main character receives a mysterious seed in an unaddressed package, and wants to find out more.

He certainly has a unique vision. The first one looks hilarious. And weird.

It is a strange film, but very good. It ends up being more deeper than the trailer suggests…
