I set up a glass cylinder with a reflector inside at a 45 degree angle to catch the reflection of my video from the tube of a small Sony Trinitron television

Fun project, but personally I never found the video-reflection-version of Pepper’s ghost effects to be as convincing as the old-school type where you’re looking at a fully 3-dimensional reflection of a real person or object. In the video version you’re just looking at a reflection of a flat screen on glass, and your brain is very good at telling whether the depth perception is off, even if it does appear to be floating in space.
