MECHAHEDGEZILLA!
I wish you the best of luck at the clinic. Remember, we’re all rooting for you!
I agree with @Nightflyer.
That test was fascinating. I took it and these were my results:
Certainly not as impressive as the extremes in yours, that’s for sure.
I’ve never been clinically diagnosed with any ASD despite discussing this with my shrink (I have been diagnosed with other mental disorders though) and I’ve always felt that something was “off” when compared with others.
Russian fingers and a Roman hand?
Thank you! My latest MRSA test this week came back negative, so unless the one at the hospital is positive there’s nothing stopping me from going any more. I’ve got an appointment today where we should be able to sort out the details.
I have experienced this and clinical depression at the same time. How people actually manage to get showered, dressed, and out of the house is beyond me.
This looks enough to be slightly off, but not off enough to arouse suspicion. More and more people are being diagnosed, so who knows.
I find that it’s easier and more difficult with a family. You have a reason to get up, keep a normal schedule and put on a good appearance, which actually helps. On the other hand, you can’t just drop responsibilities however bad you feel. Being dragged out of bed by a three year old isn’t a good look, but at least you’re up! Also, you can’t just not eat when you’re in charge of buying groceries and cooking dinner for everyone. A lot of last year was basically just playing tricks like that on myself.
Oh, and the clinic is going to accept my GP’s test, so I just have to wait for a space to open up in the ward (probably only a week or two).
Oh, don’t get me wrong. I’m not trying to self-diagnose as having an ASD or anything like that. In my opinion this would be doing a disservice to those that have actually been clinically diagnosed. I have been diagnosed with ADD, OCD, and CFS already.
More than anything, I just found it interesting that there’s some Internet test that expresses my litany of odd behaviors into a pretty graphical form and something I can look at and say, “yep, I skew toward atypical.” I’m letting my freak flag fly as it were.
We all like to have a few letters after our name.
Sincerely,
Mr. Jonathan S. Roberts, BA (Hons), ASD, ADD
Esq?
Mr. and Esq.?
True freaks use titles however they damn well please.
I left out ODD too, but that’s more of a description than an acronym, even though it’s generally written in all caps in my case.
Well, it’s about time!
You too? I still have the ‘sketch’ of a SciFi mishmosh setting somewhere including timeline and world map and stuff
I wouldn’t say I am a gadget hound per we so much as 'hey that can be used to write? FUCK YEA that interests me. The old Brother wordprocessors, that raspberry pi powered home made writer thing? The van slatt keyboard of pure awesomeness? Yes!
I’m rather comfortable with my gender. That said my sexuality is a bit of a very solid (?) I mean visually/inputwise I’m fairly straight, but I have several *'s that include a friend who’s end goal is to be somewhat intergender, a couple guy friends I realized I had at least some romantic feelings for even if there was little//no sexual attraction. Just a case of ‘love is blind. If you love somebody the rest will follow.’
I actually want to take anachronistic clothing to see if any of it can be incorporated into modern dress because that little bit of visual punch.
What I want is a meshnet like alt network. Something that can hop node to node and your personal devices are where your Facebook like page/blog is kept. Go to a con? People can log onto the net made from the gathering as boxes register with either other boxes or with a ‘checking’ box to get the shared token/cert ‘hey this is all one network’ or onto a person’s box and from there browse, offload stuff for them, or download things from them.

I see ereaders and have gone 'why aren’t interactive stories/choose your own adventure books making a comeback and aiming at more long form/grown up audiences?
