I never understood why they made the furbies look like gremlins. Everybody I knew though the furbies were creepy because they looked like gremlins.

In time, the Furby might start speaking English or 23 other languages, but this function was preprogrammed.
And then no further details. Does anyone know anything about this? How were the languages coded? Was it a case of jamming together roughly the right phonemes, or what? I assume there wasn’t a whole lot of memory on board, so what was stored?
