Heck, you’re close to 6 on that. Maybe I should retire if you get all four in six or less.
Great one, thanks! I’ve been following up with POINT/PAINT recently and it’s worked quite well for when I get an A on the first run, which is quite often. TBH, AMUSE seems like it almost always gets me 1-3 letters. I’ve been playing the archive quite a bit and use it to experiment with options (and sometimes allow myself to peek at a Scrabble site).
I’ve been liking “fluid” and “cupid” as optional second words if I don’t get any hits with whatever a/e or o word I try first.
I like some of the thinking here, though, that finding consonants first might be more effective…

I was going to try one of your suggestions today, but didn’t have to! AMUSE FTW!

I’ve had a good streak recently on Quordle by picking three words at the start that span a lot of common consonants, and forgetting about the vowels.

I played “lewdle” today after seeing the link above and, I have to say, I was very disappointed in myself at how difficult I found it to think up 5-letter lewd words they’d accept! My old salty-dawg days appear to be behind me!
Got wordle in 3 though, and it can kind of be construed as lewd, if you’re into wordplay
You can flip the switch to ‘sheltered play’ (weird word choice) which allows you to use any 5-letter word, not just lewd ones. It’s the only way I can play, too.

Every day makes me think it’s more luck than strategy. I’ve just been using words that pop in my head for the starter.

I tried the strategy recommended above of trying out consonant-heavy words first and it worked well!

That one was completely luck driven. Four words that only differ by one letter?
Mine looks almost exactly like that. Sometimes luck is a huge factor.
Also, TIL that “slave” isn’t in its list of words.
Thats interesting! I wonder if thats a good or a bad thing?
Count me as another person who got lucky today

That’s exactly how it was for me, too. And because of my work, I kept fighting back on a FIFTH nearly-identical word that comes up often for me in life, but I knew was almost certainly not the right word here.
