Judging from the premise, I get the feeling a lot of episodes are going to play on the "why isn’t a nice girl like you doing something to make us proud?’ schtick. Trying to keep her new role a secret while her mother arranges blind dates.
I get the feeling the Indian part of her heritage will also play a role – references to Bollywood, old traditions in the new world, and so on.
And this can work, or not. But the premise does offer promise. I am looking forward to it.
