The ladies will just love Georgia's new abortion law!

I reckon the reckless, unwarranted, inappropriate, disgusting and vile (and, and, and) abortion bans are pure Machiavellian power plays.

You’re accurate - punishing women for having sex - but take away the actors and consider “population crush” laws like … 21 year old drinking.

It’s absurd. There must be under 0.5% of Americans who haven’t consumed alcohol by the age of 21. Adolescents are all conscious of “committing a crime” and “illicit behaviour”, and basically opening the front door to state surveillance and entry into their lives. Those 21 and over who assist are conscious of “aiding and abetting” etc. Everyone feels like they’ve committed a crime, mild guilt and worry that can be accentuated in other areas of their lives.

It’s basically universal.

It creates feelings of hypocrisy, and introduces emotional faultlines into individuals’ defensive stance on other laws, into their fundamental reasoning and position on such things as abortion.

Everyone can be accused of hypocrisy, weakening their principles, so they demur to The State more easily.

They live in a country where they can obtain and deploy armaments with ease well before they’re “allowed” to consume alcohol.

They can be easily attacked on legal positions with the “if you’re such a law abiding citizen, how come you started drinking alcohol at 16?!?!” assault. This operates at all levels of their principles.

And there’s constant fear and concern. What if they are “busted” by the cops?! It’s absurdly ruinous. They also know that other nations have no such restrictions. They know they’re accepting the grip of a state with both cloaked and open religious interference.

With all these awarenesses and knowledges, Americans have to basically submit to obedience of the state. Or choose to “rebel” emotionally. But the emotional state they are in is framed and decided by this set of laws, and the application of them, which is itself a world of emotions and motivations.

Same with the age of consent.

Yes, it’s about power over women - introducing a new faultline into the population’s ability to focus, to self-determine. Teaching them that obedience is paramount.

It only takes a few of these areas of life to be “governed” by the state, and the voters are susceptible to manipulation by extreme views.
They can’t argue effectively with family members, they’re open to their contrary views being immediately debased, they find it hard to maintain stance.

They know they’re living in a medieval society, and because their thoughts are roiling from concern that Jack got caught drinking and might spill the beans, they grow up being softened at every step, yielding their minds to the state.

Presto, Trump.

Sad.

That, and they clearly wanted to go to the Supreme Court as seen in ST:IV…or something. Oh wait, I mean GET ROBOTIC ABORTION DOCTORS (which would have admitting privileges wherever the State Senate likes to/must go to,) ensuring that the local killbots are all so busy tranquilizing (State, though really Federal Criminal,) cops, they can’t carry the “can’t miss” rounds in sufficiency.

Will we survive the creative nonfiction action flick series about midwifery?

? >Ala. based
Yeah, ATL based is a better term. Hanging in there for the Overdressed Mansplainer on How Heat Works for Alaskans (hosted by people wearing like 4 layers of cargo shorts.)
