It takes an attention to detail to recognize it, but this is an extraordinarily indirect way of saying that astronomers see too much ionized interstellar hydrogen.

There is an explanation for this. We do not have to infer the dark matter construct to explain it. UV radiation is not the only way to ionize the interstellar filaments.
