Hm. I should work on the tags. Since itās all one big HTML file, with a Javascript framework, tags on the individual articles/tiddlers might be impossible, but a single generic set of OpenGraph for the whole wiki should work for Oneboxing.

Not sure where to put this. Itās a long read, and itās about āConservatismā, but itās also a good reminder of what has changed in the Republican party. Hereās a perfect example of something you would never hear from a current Republican official:

Does he know that in other countries such expressions exist as well and people are absolutely capable of understanding them? Hell, parts of Germany still call a folding ruler (marked in centimetres) a āZollstockā, an āinch stickā. When I go to the butcherās I buy āa pound of meatā, itās just that we have redefined a pound to mean 500g in common parlance.

I suspect that this is the root of many of his grievances. He canāt stand being perceived as part of the vulgar side. Which of course he is, as @Melizmatic demonstrated just a few posts down

Martin Niemƶller was horrified when he realized how far Nazism had to go before he recognized it was going to affect him too and thatās what finally made him sit up and take notice. We need to keep his words in our hearts so we donāt make the same mistake:
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak outābecause I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak outā because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak outābecause I was not a Jew.
Then they came for meāand there was no one left to speak for me.
Especially when you consider that the people affected by these three cases already are the majority of the country.

Well yeah, as a multicultural, metropolitan elite of course he does. Unlike most English speaking people he also isnāt entirely monoglot either. But this is his bread and butter. This is the seam be has been mining for decades.
I hate those old roods, perches, and whatever and sometimes annoy people by asking them what they mean after saying them (like nobody here actually knows what an acre is even if itās a commonly used term). But he knows better than we do they are a synecdoche for that project he has been engaged in: rich white English nationalism.
