Hm. I should work on the tags. Since itās all one big HTML file, with a Javascript framework, tags on the individual articles/tiddlers might be impossible, but a single generic set of OpenGraph for the whole wiki should work for Oneboxing.
Remember that old candy bar jingle?
It was something like, āsometimes you feel like a nut,ā¦sometimes you want to unleash the hounds hounds of hell upon these covidiots who continue forcing us all to live in this nightmare timeline!ā
Iām close, I think.
Not sure where to put this. Itās a long read, and itās about āConservatismā, but itās also a good reminder of what has changed in the Republican party. Hereās a perfect example of something you would never hear from a current Republican official:
There is something wrong that I lived 80 years, benefited from wonderful institutions of higher education, and in my 80th year, I learned about the Tulsa riots,ā Will said. āThere is something wrong there. I should have known about that. That wasnāt just erasure; that was a pogrom.
But of course heās very much against the 1819 1619 Project. Lots of angering details like that, to be sure, but thereās still a categorical difference, and itās happened in our lifetimes.
Will the idiocy of the Brexit sado-populists on Garbage Island ever end?
The NYT misspelled āfreedumbsā. Truly the most stupid, retrograde move Iāve seen yet from the Tories.
Still an asshole though. Dude, take responsibility. You helped make this mess.
People like him, Ann Coulter, David Brooks, William Kristol, and David Frum, among others, helped to pave this path to hell. They can all go fuck off a short pier.
Party at the septic tank?
Fuckers.
āKlan leader?ā
Fucking Klan founder.
āFirst to secede. Second to none.ā
Something, something, superior jeansā¦
Or as one of my mentors used to say, blond like Hitler, lean like Gƶring, and nimble like Goebbels.
āThe system of weights and measures is integral to our daily life and also to our written culture, our language,ā he said, citing expressions like āan inch is as good as a mile,ā and āinching forward.ā
Does he know that in other countries such expressions exist as well and people are absolutely capable of understanding them? Hell, parts of Germany still call a folding ruler (marked in centimetres) a āZollstockā, an āinch stickā. When I go to the butcherās I buy āa pound of meatā, itās just that we have redefined a pound to mean 500g in common parlance.
Now on campuses, itās dĆ©classĆ© to be a conservative. Youāre not just mistaken [in your beliefs]; youāre somehow vulgar.
I suspect that this is the root of many of his grievances. He canāt stand being perceived as part of the vulgar side. Which of course he is, as @Melizmatic demonstrated just a few posts down

That looks much better. Now to put it in the pipeline for the wiki and see how it looks on Twitter. (Sorry, the Onebox topic closed.)
If it made any sense, Iām sure they would have thrown Loving and Brown and Miranda etc. in there too. Once youāve tossed out stare decisis you might as well go whole hog.
edit: brain-farted on case names.
Martin Niemƶller was horrified when he realized how far Nazism had to go before he recognized it was going to affect him too and thatās what finally made him sit up and take notice. We need to keep his words in our hearts so we donāt make the same mistake:
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak outābecause I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak outā because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak outābecause I was not a Jew.
Then they came for meāand there was no one left to speak for me.
Especially when you consider that the people affected by these three cases already are the majority of the country.
Except in this case people have been saying thatās what they wanted to do for decades.
Itās just not been taken seriously by the āseriousā people.
Well yeah, as a multicultural, metropolitan elite of course he does. Unlike most English speaking people he also isnāt entirely monoglot either. But this is his bread and butter. This is the seam be has been mining for decades.
I hate those old roods, perches, and whatever and sometimes annoy people by asking them what they mean after saying them (like nobody here actually knows what an acre is even if itās a commonly used term). But he knows better than we do they are a synecdoche for that project he has been engaged in: rich white English nationalism.
