PV is NOT press. It harms actual journalists when pustulent assholes like this try to shelter under their umbrella. Instead of defending them, NYT should be shoving them out into the light of scrutiny.
That doesnât usually happen unless thereâs some national security issue; like being compromised by Putin. Or theyâre involved in Some sort of Gaetz type of business.
It seems more than just a diary theft.
The ACLU says that while Project Veritas are the scum of the Earth, the DOJ should proceed carefully.
All these things can be true: the DOJ must have and be seen to have the highest possible care and consideration for investigating anything which even looks like it might be journalism.
But also, Project Veritas isnât even cosplaying as journalism. Itâs straight out running a fascist propaganda factory and baldface lying about it when itâs pointed out, with a âmethinks the lady doth protest too muchâ performative outrage at the mere suggestion.
âReal journalistsâ working for Fox and Sinclair have blurred the lines for decades, it should all be considered unethical
âUnless the government had good reason to believe that Project Veritas employees were directly involved in the criminal theft of the diaryâ
It wouldnât be the first time they were involved in criminal activity. Or plead guilty to it.
Whatever comes of this, getting arrested in his underwear is the kind of expose I can get behind.
âPlease-donât-fuck-this-up, please-donât-fuck-this-upâŚâ
Buh-bye
He seems like an ideal magaciple kind of guy.
See, what I find so hard to comprehend is that somehow he went to them, hat in hand, pleading for financial assistance, but they all still think heâs this YUGE businessman with the best smarts.
And 10s of thousands is like begging for spare change at that level of legal battle.
The lawyers, themselves republicans, know they wonât get paid (even a pittance) any other way.
There are easily enough Texans to elect an obvious moron to the AG post. The evidence is the number of Texans who keep sending an objectively repulsive slimeball to represent them in the U.S. Senate again and again (and of course the number of Texans who decided that Americaâs foremost public confidence artist would make a suitable POTUS).
To be fair, we know that the state put its fingers on the scale for republicans. Texas isnât nearly as closely divided as GA politically, but itâs getting there. Itâs closer than most people think. They have to cheat because itâs coming close to them being unable to win with their lack of ideas and open bigotry.
