I agree that living rent-free in mom’s basement or living on state disability cheques only goes so far in explaining how these congenital screw-ups have both the money and time to do this.
I suspect that a network of right-wing and Xtianist sugar daddies is happy to bankroll the airfare and hotels and U-Haul rentals for a quick one- or two-day hit-and-run anti-LGBTQ riot as long as the organiser is halfway capable of putting a couple of dozen emtitled losers and a very simple operational plan together.
In terms of cost, we’re looking at $600-700 maximum per man-child from the funder du jour, plus some of the mooks taking a personal or sick day if they have a job. The sugar daddies also take care of the defense lawyers and bail if needed. All within the realm of possibility.
The goal/ROI appears to be to get footage of the incident (recorded by fascist social media “influencers”) onto Faux News and in front of the eyes of the Republican mainstream within 48 hours, making that the “real” story of Pride Month. In turn that serves as a prompt and pretext for GOP state reps and governors to try to introduce new discriminatory laws.
Which is to say, the incidents we’re seeing are not spontaneous but are being loosely co-ordinated and funded according to a template. It’s similar to the attempts to disrupt and take over local school boards we saw a few months ago. I’m pretty sure they’re hoping to use the model during the 2024 elections as well.
She apparently has a history of being duped by charlatans and grifters.
Seems like she’s the perfect candidate, then, for the kind of guardianship that Britney Spears suffered under for many years.
For some things, I think we need a second, “Are you really sure you want to see this?” spoiler tag.
Over the years, I’ve seen people get out of a cult and jump right into anti-cult activism, and my reaction was usually “Hey, it’s cool. Take some me time and get your balance back before getting into stressful activism.”
Too many of them retain the same mindset as when they were in.

In case you’d like to see a preview of the next several election cycles, here it is: refusing to certify election results for no other reason than a distrust of the machines.
Did you hear about how Kandiss Taylor is claiming that she lost the GA Gubernatorial GOP primary because of voter fraud… She got like 3% of the vote…

If this become a thing, my whole town will be cinders.
That’s not a tantrum, that’s going “full Kavanaugh.” Privileged people with nothing but outrage, bluster, and bullying tactics to offer when their competence and honesty are challenged (or their mediocrity and mendacity are exposed).
He’s certainly taken things a step further, but he was already an asshole when he was a Wisconsin Supreme Court justice.
They’re just going whole hog into trying to bring the 1800’s back.
