The original, sketch-less music video for a-ha's "Take on Me" (1984)

Yes

The music video, directed by Julian Doyle, was conceived by Terry Gilliam and Kate Bush as a short film. The video features Canadian actor Donald Sutherland playing the role of Wilhelm Reich, and Bush in the role of his young son, Peter.

Interesting. That makes sense. But in my memory, the new Lou Reed video was a scheduled event, which seems unlikely in itself. But I remember having great anticipation watching it, was trying very hard not to be disappointed for the first half of the video, and then Gaaaaaah! The VJ afterwards had a similar, β€œum, well. That was something.” reaction.
Someday I’ll spend some time googling to see if anyone recorded it.

And from the Wikipedia article it seems that β€œThe Oregon Times” was selected for its similarity to β€œOrgonon”: the name of Reich’s home, where the cloudbusters roam.
