Can’t the drone just hover permanently directly behind pooch’s backside for immediate retrieve and removal (to my neighbor’s yard)?

Sounds like a good idea, but also, I could see it going horribly wrong.

Agreed. Landing a couple inches too far away from the poop, so that the poop literally hits the fan (or actually vice versa) is one possible failure mode.

Could it be reconfigured for human poop? You know, for San Francisco.

Yeah, anything to not build public restrooms that will benefit everyone… /s

This could be useful in public parks, where the park workers could send it up at dusk so the grass would be free of dog bombs in the morning.

Now it just needs to be programmed to drop off what’s collected on the roof of Xitter headquarters.

I wonder what the training data looks like?

The poopcopter must be programmed to say “It’s a living” when approached by a human

They need to make a sidewalk-friendly model with built-in DNA testing that flies the poop to the negligent dog owner’s home.

The more advanced model will come with a supply of paper bags, and an ignition source.

I beta test technology products as a hobby, about 50 projects to date.

About eight years ago, I was selected to test a pooper-scooper service which was to use a robot to pick-up the poop. Alas, it never came to fruition so I don’t know if the robot was autonomous or if there was to be a remote human running it.

I wonder how adjacent/adaptable this is to an autonomous drone that goes looking for tanks, or soldiers with a Z on their hats?
