OFFICERS. Goddamn it Rolling Stone, you’re slipping. I’m sure they don’t confirm or deny the existence of agents either, but when you join the CIA, you join as an intelligence officer, not an agent, unlike the FBI. Agents, or “assets,” are not CIA staff, though the CIA may be providing them with bribes/money/supplies.
