I’ve had this stuck in my head for a few days and I can’t say I’m all too pleased. Maybe later I’ll feel better…
This song was my introduction to KitH many, many years ago. I can’t remember how it goes anymore and every attempt I make morphs into the KitH Dave song “These are the Daves I know, I Know. These are the Daves I know”
I think they are nearly the same song!
Also… fine ham abounds…
I’m glad I’m in my youth / I can taste the ham of truth!
Not really in my head (and if you listen, you’ll understand why), but today a good friend of mine told me:
“I appreciate your ability to enjoy dissonance, with my old style musical education it’s impossible** for me”.*
So I thought of Iannis Xenakis, and advised him to try.
* it must be noted that our usual interaction is to tease and mock each other for any conceivable reason.
I have known him for 30 years, this is I think the second time he afforded me a positive remark.
** but this is not a general truth, my cello double bass player friend went to music school and played in a number of quite high tier orchestras, but she also likes contemporary music, including Xenakis. I have no musical education to speak of.
Edit: wrong instrument!
FYI, that makes this a better thread for your (intriguing!) Post–
Expecting nice weather tonight, and tomorrow.
MTV clearly made a mistake here. Old school anthems? This song is only…30+ years old.
Overslept this morning, and some
part of my brain started on this.
It was an effective incentive to get up and try to start working on / thinking about anything else to make it stop!
You poor thing!
Shudders
Yeah, I’m setting up two alarms for tomorrow! ![]()
Both Terriers and the Dave Song are firmly lodged in my head now. It’s like I’m 11 years old all over again ![]()

For me Mycenae Alpha is a great example of what to listen to when you have an irritating earworm in your head. This is the antidote. This is why I said in the other thread that I was surprised at the negative reactions I had got from playing it to people. I thought I was doing them a favour, ridding them of a curse, like an exorcist in Assyria banging and chanting.
