Memories. My 12-year old self and friends, late 1970s, had no problem buying 10+ cases of matches (perhaps 50 packets of 25 paper matches in each case?) at the local A&P. Sometimes with pocketfulls (pocketsfull?) of change. Check-out woman never batted an eye.
Probably a call the cops event nowadays.
