The subversion of American democracy

Much of this discussion focusses on the difficulty of differentiating racial from partisan gerrymandering, but they’re missing the point.

Gerrymandering, racist or not, is nothing more or less than an attempt to reduce the extent to which the vote truly represents the will of the people. If your society allows partisan gerrymandering, your society is not democratic.
