This is what’s so frustrating about the legacy of Hilary and so hard to articulate to her ardent supporters. Yes, misogyny played a massive role in her defeat to trump (as did James Comey’s fuckery and decades of GQP lies). But she is also a deeply flawed leader who I find incredibly frustrating because she clearly understands the geopolitical landscape and what brought us to certain points, yet also seems to be fully willing to engage in the exact same sort of fuckery when her own fog of war tells her that this time will be different.

I pray to whatever god one believes in that she had been elected just to spare the world from Former Guy, but she is absolutely a product of the corporate military industrial Democratic establishment that is barely distinguishable from 1970s Republicanism. Four years from her would have prevented a lot of pain and suffering (and probably saved 1m American lives from COVID but after that it would have been more of the same and Americans would need to find a new path regardless to keep making progress away from people like her.
