The 'WKRP in Cincinnati' closing theme lyrics are all gibberish

indeed. that’s what i’ve always referred to her as, even when she first appeared Ferris Beuller’s Day Off. “oh hey, Herb Tarlek’s wife works at the high school!”

I particularly like the “Too Many Cooks” feel of that extended mix of the closing credits.

It sounds to me about as gibberish-y as 95% of rock songs.

According to some guy on youtube (who may have written the song):

I didn’t mean to spend 20 minutes watching that but… it was fascinating. And a good reminder that the world is unfathomably large when you start to look at individual lives.

I didn’t find that depressing. He seemed to have the wonderful experience of discovering the place where he truly belonged and finishing out his days there. My only complaint about the video is that (unless it went by very quickly and I missed it) there was no mention of my favorite red lectroid, John O’Connor.

Gotta follow up with, no other mentions of Jan Smithers?? Forget Betty Rubble/ Wilma Flintstone, forget Maryanne/Ginger (Gilligan’s Island)… to my teenage taste (and still to my taste now), Loni Anderson (the actress most guys drooled over) couldn’t hold a candle to her.

Thanks for the props. We are all petty. But it takes a great person to admit it in public.

Glad you liked it. The others in the series are just as good. James Hong’s was one of his best, but he took it down for various reasons. Glad I saw it.

Well the gist of so many of the No Small Parts videos are, “Look at this amazing actor/actress. Look at all the stuff they did on and off the screen. Looking forward to seeing new work? Eh, too late, they are dead.” Though it seems some of his newer ones have living subjects.

When you have some of these people who are so prolific, it is impossible to mention all their work.

Not available in my country? Are they afraid maybe I know English?

I jumped in here to mention that . . . was this some special compilation end credit? Because I’m not sure if all those people would have time to talk one or two words each. It’s almost like a Too Many Cooks style spoof.

You beat me to the comparison, should have read all the comments first!

It’s not English. It’s gibberish. But maybe that’s you’re joke and I’m missing it… But it’s one of those wonderful things I first found on BB.

Here is a live version of it I can access in the US.

OH hey - I found a new fuller version with the sketch ahead of it and better sound, and different visuals edited in, and an extended remix.

I think this is the original video for it.

Serious. It was produced by MTM, and their kitten meowing at the end of a film was a spoof on the famous MGM lion roaring.

Yes, there is unmistakably a reference to whack-a-mole in there.

I’ve been a huge fan of Schiavelli forever, but I was flinching every time this video mentioned him by name. I’m pretty sure Schiavelli pronounced his name the traditional Italian way, where the ‘h’ makes the ‘c’ hard.

Well to be fair the guy who put it together is a big fan, but also a dumb American. :man_shrugging:

Thank you for this.

That was intentional as he discovers more about his non-acting career and later in the video decides to “start over”, now pronouncing it correctly and concentrating more on his love of Italy.

Thanks for linking that! I’m glad to know more about an actor I’ve seen everywhere but couldn’t even tell you his name.
