Exactly. It’s one thing to have a nostalgia show 20 years after the time period, another to have one 50 years after. I don’t think the original would have worked without the nostalgia factor, it wasn’t that great of a show.
Ironically some people may watch out of nostalgia for the original show, to see what they do with events of the same time period, compare the look and feel of the show. Ultimately it rests on what audiences think of its quality, what time slot it gets, and whether clips of it on youtube/twitter make people want to tune in, in an ever-fragmented TV landscape.
