This needs to be done. Preferably not in my house. :grinning:

What’s the big deal? This product clearly fulfills the requirement of delivering plenty of DC current through several USB connectors in a conveniently small plastic form factor. I’m sure there are plenty of valid uses for this.

How am I not on this list?

And, on occasion, we get a good reminder of why they call it ā€˜the smoke test’…

The explosions?

Definitely the explosions.

You can’t get on the list unless you are disappointed.

I’m disappointed my past disappointed either didn’t get notice, or wasn’t disappointing enough to make The List.

Metadisappointment is not eligible for the list, but someone could make a list of people who are disappointed not to be on the list of people who are disappointed with Boing Boing.

I’m so disappointing I’m not on that list.

I thought this was going to be an article where this was a stupid feature, not a bug. Where some clever person figured out a way to send full mains power by a multiplexing USBs or something, kind of the reverse of broadband over mains.

exactly right!

seems like it is actually a not half bad unit, this one just had a faulty component, one that was no fault of the unit design. that same transformer flaw would affect any unit from any manufacturer that used that transformer.

TRANSFORMERS…more then meets the eye. right? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

yep…this highlights the importance of automated quality control testing on electronics units.

If the list were opt-in it would be much larger.

Defective guillotine?

I’m pretty sure that, thanks to you, Cantor is now disappointed in Boing Boing,

Many customers in the decapitation market are really unhappy about that fact; but the guillotine is an exemplar of the genre in terms of reliability, repeatability, simplified operator training, and low total cost of ownership.
