I played Laid (song) at my wedding. It filled the dance floor like no other, danceability of the song be damned.
Though my favourite of theirs is Getting Away With It.
Well, the lyrics do include:
Dressed me up in women’s clothes
Messed around with gender roles
Dyed my eyes and called me pretty…
Yes. Yes they do. 
But when contrasted to, say, The Communards’ There’s More To Love Than Boy Meets Girl, Chumbawamba’s Behave, Ute Lemper’s Maskulinum - Femininum, The Raincoats’ cover of The Kinks’ Lola, and Clarence “Frogman” Henry’s Ain’t Got No Home, among others on the mix, Laid is kinda tame. 
It is presented more as a crazy one-off by a crazy person than like a real interest in gender bending.
Nothing wrong with crazy one-offs, mind you.
All in all, crazy one-offs are probably a great idea.
To quote another dance-floor filler from my younger years:
It’s no better to be safe than sorry.
