The nudis, the best known of what used to be classified as opisthos but modern phylogeny now shows are just part of the clade of heteros.
I haven’t heard this one, but aquarium keepers like to shorten things. Names like tetras and plecos are little fragments of scientific names, current or previous.

These are awesome and make me wonder if David ever dove. Nudis are so totally out of this world that it fits.
