There is a tool that Blizzard was trying that was supposed to assess diversity in game character development. The article I read about it did not do a good job conveying how it was supposed to work.
It felt forced but I think the intent was to flag when you drifted into poor representation.

Damn, gay text adventure game parsers in the 80s were BRUTAL.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderland’s character creation eschews gender entirely and even features some pronoun choice. Nor is body mesh linked to voice.
