I still love “The Cat In The Hat” for its wordplay and rhymes, but until reading it recently for my toddler, I didn’t realize what a total asshole he is! Sam (of “Green Eggs And Ham”) too. Such jerks! Hard to tell what lessons they teach other than “don’t take ‘no’ for an answer.”

Yeah, pretty much. There are also some issues around Dr. Seuss attitude towards folks of Asian/Pacific Islander origin at some early parts in his career? Later he did give us Horton and the Lorax. I’ve read tons of folks rightfully angry with him, and a lot of folks apologizing or explaining how that early awfulness helped drive his later career.
I like his art. I do not have any of the earlier stuff in my home, only the feel good.

I’m pretty worn out on the Funko Pop figures. There’s the odd one that looks genuinely nice but i find the majority of them to be pretty generic.

Shared drinks and a little gossip with Thing 1 a few years ago in St. Louis, and I was sooo relieved to find out I’m not the only one who thinks Thing 2’s look is just nasty.
