This 1812 Webster's definition of a house cat is insulting to house cats everywhere, even if it may be accurate

Our chonker cat Tyson continues to expand his broad knowledge of gravity, despite having tested its opportunities and limits for years. A remarkably durable species.
Edit: he was named for the physicist, not the boxer

I just finished reading a History of Data Visulization and it referenced the first cat video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKYmECOKd58

In much the same vein as rapid photography to learn about horses’ gait, a physicist dropped a cat upside down to observe how they self-right.

A writer to the journal (Nature?) noted the indignant look on the cat’s face.

There was a reason cats did not like him, thus giving him the impression they were spiteful when, in fact, they had correctly ascertained that he was a douchenozzle.

If animals don’t like you, I probably won’t either.

That person is in the scritches for the long haul. There is no stopping early because the oven timer dinged or the doorbell rang. They’re done when kitty says they’re done.

Well, they do make a point of finding someone who didn’t already feed them to stare intently at while sitting next to the empty bowl.

My dad was in the army when my older brother was born. Soon afterwards, his CO called him to his office.

CO: So, Lt Snigs, I understand your wife just gave birth to your son?
Dad: Yes sir
CO: Congratulations. I understand you also have a cat at home?
Dad: (confused) Yes sir?
CO: I would like to inform you that you are now fourth in the chain of command of your household.
