I asked ChatGPT to write a script for an add for Pizza Hug Spot and got this decidedly less weird (but very bland) script:

Title: Pizza Hug Spot - Where Pizza and Hugs Meet

Fade in:

INT. PIZZA HUG SPOT - DAY

The restaurant is bustling with customers, and the aroma of fresh pizza fills the air. A cheerful hostess greets a group of customers as they enter.

HOSTESS
Welcome to Pizza Hug Spot! How many in your party?

CUSTOMER 1
Table for four, please.

HOSTESS
Right this way.

The hostess leads the customers to a table in the cozy dining area.

CUSTOMER 2
Wow, this place looks great! I love the decor.

HOSTESS
Thank you! We wanted to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, like a hug from a friend.

CUSTOMER 3
Speaking of hugs, what’s with the name Pizza Hug Spot?

HOSTESS
Our owner believes that pizza is like a warm hug, comforting and satisfying. We wanted to create a place where people can come and enjoy delicious pizza in a friendly and welcoming environment.

CUSTOMER 4
That’s awesome! I can’t wait to try the pizza.

HOSTESS
Great choice! Our menu features a variety of specialty pizzas, as well as build-your-own options. And if you have any dietary restrictions, we have gluten-free and vegan options too.

The customers peruse the menu and place their orders.

INT. KITCHEN - DAY

In the kitchen, the chef and his team are hard at work, preparing the pizzas with fresh ingredients and homemade sauce.

CHEF
Alright team, let’s get these pizzas in the oven!

The pizzas are placed in the oven and baked to perfection.

INT. DINING AREA - DAY

The pizzas arrive at the table, steaming and delicious.

CUSTOMER 1
Wow, this looks amazing!

CUSTOMER 2
I can’t wait to dig in!

CUSTOMER 3
Let’s raise a slice to Pizza Hug Spot - where pizza and hugs meet!

The customers cheer and enjoy their pizza, savoring every bite.

INT. PIZZA HUG SPOT - LATER

As the customers finish their meal and prepare to leave, the hostess bids them farewell.

HOSTESS
Thanks for coming to Pizza Hug Spot! We hope you had a great experience.

CUSTOMER 4
We definitely did! We’ll be back soon.

HOSTESS
We’ll be here waiting with open arms - and hot pizza!

The customers exit the restaurant, smiling and satisfied.

Fade out.

How was voice-over done?

I don’t know, but there are a lot of text-to-voice AIs now, some of which can convincingly mimic a given human’s voice, and even read emotional cues from the content of the text.
There’s a lot of scariness coming down the line, I think.

“Synthespians” are a whole lot cheaper than meat marionettes, and they don’t hold out for residuals. Plus, they don’t have checkered pasts of the kind where you end up realizing your best shoe salesman is a Nazi sympathizer.

When all you want from your advertisement is a smiling face next to your product, I can see the appeal.

I thought this one to be more cursed:

Virtual Youtuber Wiki - Inugami Korone

Korone originally greeted viewers with “Yubi! Yubi!,” which originated from her desire to have her own unique greeting. During her first stream with the other members of hololive Gamers, Korone noticed that she was the only one out of the group that didn’t have her own greeting. She joked about possibly greeting her viewers by asking for their fingers, after which they would reply “Yubi! Yubi!” in return, “Yubi” being the Japanese word for finger.

When I was a kid we had to rely on local businesses making weird, inexplicable TV commercials on a shoestring budget, often with embarrassing white-guy hip-hop-rapping, lame jokes, and really cheap video effects. It achieved the same effect because it was real, and appeared on late night TV when you were stoned and half asleep – “did we just see that?”

And why didn’t they get Dr Steve Brule to do the voice-over? It’s so obviously derived from his speak.
