This is the art of pantomime. In church

To be fair, that was a low-point for Sabbath.

If this is a genuine instructional presentation it’s seriously creepy and that guy could be a serial killer. If it’s an art piece it’s brilliant… and seriously creepy.

Are mimes are scarier sub-species of clown?

I tried playing War Pigs while watching the mime – didn’t improve either.

He’s behind you!

I’d love to see what the US evangelical attitude to British pantomime is, with it’s tradition of drag (Pantomime dames and principal boys).

My British church during my childhood didn’t have a problem with it.

You’re telling me this guy isn’t the Zodiac Killer?

Yeah. You’re in 'Murica now, my friend.

Oddly, all the witnesses are unavailable for comment.

This is the stuff of nightmares.

Today’s hip church youth have moved unto stick ministry. It’s like interpretive dance, but with sticks: https://youtu.be/JLuqkUz89ak

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?

BEEP

Thou art more lovely and more temperate.

BEEP

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,

BEEP

And summer’s lease hath all too short a date.

BEEP

Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,

BEEP

And often is his gold complexion dimmed;

BEEP

And every fair from fair sometime declines,

BEEP

By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimmed;

BEEP

But thy eternal summer shall not fade,

BEEP

Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,

BEEP

Nor shall death brag thou wand’rest in his shade,

BEEP

When in eternal lines to Time thou grow’st.

BEEP

So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,

BEEP

So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Man, I hated church. My dad was pastor, so I had to attend every service I could until I hit 18. I stopped attending that same week.

Uncommon Ephemera. Why throw in “uncommon”? Almost by definition… isn’t true ephemera uncommon?

No. Even in an A.A. 12-step program, one is not required to admit that.

If you have to ask that question, then you definitely will be the wife.

Sorry.

My favorite intrusion of modern culture into the christian church is this “rap”:

Sadly the lyrics will be gibberish to most here since it’s in Dutch. The title “Met Jezus op pad” Translates roughly to: “On a journey with Jesus” (literally: on (a) path with Jesus).
