Also, not to be missed… Billy Bragg, Wilco, and Natalie Merchant produced two albums of songs from those same lyrics/poems and made some real classics…

The first one is of my favorite albums of all time!

Jay Farrar’s New Multitudes is another project out of the Guthrie archives that was originally intended to be Mermaid Avenue vol 3 with Son Volt and Bragg collaborating. It’s pretty good, if stylistically very different than the Wilco/Bragg material.
