I studied primarily Cognitive Studies, which is related to Artificial Intelligence research.
I also had a fellow student who was pre-med and interested in Medical Ethics as a career path. Apparently it’s a very lucrative field.
If people haven’t studied Philosophy, they assume it’s easy - “Why is there air?” - Bill Cosby’s classic routine - is a great example of how people see the discipline. People who have taken courses know it’s one of the most rigorous disciplines in the humanities and very relevant to Law, Computer Science, and any career that involves writing. I wrote more in my Philosophy courses than in any other course I took.
I see your conjecture — and raise with suppositions based upon evidence.
Um, no. You should do more research.
Democrats did try and they won the popular vote.
Republicans gained benefits across the board from controlling the redistricting process. In other words, the more corrupt party took advantage of corruption.
This is all moot, anyway. The point is that Republicans, in reality, are the party that is the biggest roadblock to progressive third party adoption. You can waste time debating why it’s the case, however in the meantime, we need to unseat them instead of wallowing in false equivalence based upon misinformation and ignorance.
Not to mention we’re kind of running out of time with things like global climate change.

And, wouldn’t educating more of our nation’s youth be a good thing for our future as well?
Republican regression needs to be stopped (or at least prioritized) before we can properly tackle the reform and/or replacement of the Democratic party. That is, if proper strategy is to be applied instead of mindlessly spinning our wheels. Bernie Sanders is a step in the right direction for both goals.
