Timbuk2 Classic Messenger Bag

I’ve had a Timbuk2 Commute model for a year now, bought on a half-off sale. I like the fold-flat feature for air travel (though TSA still often wanted my laptop completely separate). The construction quality is very good and I prefer this synthetic material to much heavier leather.

My only compliant is the side elastic pocket does not securely hold my narrow-but-big (20 oz) Zojirushi vacuum bottle. I’ve had it fall out a few times.

In general I love the size. It lets me lug around a laptop, tablet, e-reader, USB battery pack, and assorted cables, papers, and such. The extra-price shoulder strap pad (forget the name) is worth it, if you lug as much as I like to.

After lusting after these for years, I finally got myself a medium in the colors of the Irish tricolor, and I was so happy with it that I got a small all-black one to use as my work bag.
