That was a great episode. The latest two seasons had some gems, particularly season 11, but you need to ignore the turgid arc episodes - if it’s written by carter then maybe give it a miss.
Just so long as my coffee maker doesn’t go rogue.
Here’s a bit of prior art from 1963: a ‘robot bird’ drone on Fireball XL5 that fires radium pellets. It not only shoots, but hangs around to have another go if the kill is not confirmed (see about 14:30)…
That was pretty creepy for 7-year old me.
This kinda drone would have looked more scary.
Nah, Wilbur is just too cute to be scary.
Jo Morton and Sam Shepard? Should be worth a shufti.
Ohh, why not both? A drone with a bagpipe?
Yeah. Kinda like those howling Stuka bombers - only bagpipes! I can’t begin to imagine the horror.
Had the allies adopted this on there planes, the Second World War may have been dramatically shortened.
Tale as old as time: new girl fighter pilot arrives at the same time as an autonomous drone. The drone and girl prove themselves. Drone gets struck by lightning and goes all HAL 9000. Hilarity ensues.
So this is the exact same plot as chucky, except instead of a doll it’s a drone
