Those “gender reveal” parties bug the shit out of me. Not only is it the child’s biological sex at issue but the decor and themes are fucking sexist as well as binary focused.
My husband and I didn’t have one of those stupid parties. Instead we sat and talked, multiple times, of what we would do to support our child if she isn’t heterosexual or cisgender, to make sure we were on the same page. I don’t expect either of those things- statistically, she’ll probably be heterosexual and cisgender. But I didnt want the first time I considered the possibility to be when my child is standing in front of me and needs my support. That is not the time for shock.
Sigh. I will step off my soap box now.

Statistically speaking, your child will be cishet. But that’s only 9:1 odds. Only slightly better than Russian roulette. It’s even more likely that your child will be gender nonconforming on some level, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.
The odds that your child will defy your expectations for them is near certainty though
