Trump said Americans who died in war are "losers" and "suckers" according to The Atlantic

As a veteran, while I am sure there are some supporters, yeah no. He’s not the kind of POTUS generally supported by us.

I suppose that would matter if you care about the decorum of the office, which I do not. Trump already does lots of military worship anyway, which also sucks.

Trump is a great example of why I’d love to see all presidential debates include high-school level history questions:

Mr Trump, can you please summarize in three minutes the major causes of WWII, who the combatants were, and what the outcome was?

Mr. Trump, can you please explain what the terms “Federalist” and “anti-federalist” mean in the context of American history and some of the proponents of both?

Mr. Trump, can you explain the origin of the interstate highway system in the United States and its importance in economic development?

I mean, the article in question does put that notion in some important context.

Except, regardless about how you feel about the military, he just wants them to worship him. It’s one-way.

Didn’t Trump call John Lewis a loser? Maybe not the specific word, but surely the same dismissive tone.

I didn’t know it before, but last night I read that John Lewis had had CO status. Well, before he started getting into good trouble, when they changed his status to 4F.

It’s so hard to follow, does that mean Trump thinks John Lewis is a loser, or that he thinks he’s a loser? Same insult, different reasons.

I also learned today that there’s an Andrew Goodman Foundation, I guess it could be described as promoting/protecting voting. He of course was murdered at the start of Freedom Summer in 1964. John Lewis was an adviser or something to the foundation.

Another media might be more appropriate.

I’d be mighty curious if a search of war dead on both sides (realizing now that I said those three words I should repeat them, ON BOTH SIDES!) pulled anything for the name Drumpf.

When he’s quoted talking about his hair, they should put inner quotes around the word ‘hair.’

Damn Quori - that’s exhausting just reading it. I can not comprehend any sane person wanting this man to lead our country or direct our troops.

Nope.

He could dump Melania and marry Hillary at this point and his base would still be passing snakes and praising their orange idol.

I wonder how many secret service members, typically vets, have lost friends and family in battle…

I wish those who witnessed him say those things would have the courage to step up and say so publicly.

It apparently gets better:

It wouldn’t make any difference. Countless people in his inner circle, in the administration, and even in his own family have spoken publicly about the terrible things he has said and done. None of it made a lick of difference to the cultists. Not even when the statements were on tape.

And, of course, There Is Always A Tweet.

Maybe one of those poor, sorry suckers will frag him in his sleep. “Thank you for your service.”

There’s always so much to love in Trump tweets. I mean, here he claims he never called McCain a “loser” when he did so in public, on video, for everyone to see, thus instantly negating all his denials of similar statements made in private, but I especially love the “swear on whatever, or whoever, I was asked to swear on.” He’s constantly making such a song and dance about being a Christian, but it’s like either he can’t remember the names of the fundamental things he pretends to consider holy, or he just making a mockery of swearing on the Bible, of swearing to God, admitting that none of it means anything to him.

I think there are a lot of people that have been waiting until it can do the most damage, specifically during the final run up to November 3rd. Here’s hoping.
