Sooo many premade gifs have it spelled wrong, and that’s such a bummer:
“Just cast away…”
I hear Trump is going to start his own social media company and call it…
MySpaceForce
“Asked not to return”?
I also would not be surprised if there was an internal uprising that may have precipitated these, as well.
As someone said, for white nationalists the “nation” is white people everywhere.
I’m sure sooner or later we will be treated to a Downfall-like movie about these few days
I wonder, is it a pardon if no one writes it down for him and it’s only verbal? Or of his staff “accidentally” loses it along the way?
I can’t celebrate. I can’t cheer. It’s far beyond “too little, too late.” It comes after years of lying, sleazing, grifting, stealing, assaulting America. It comes with five dead people, including an officer who was trying to protect our elected officials from a mob intent on murdering them.
We as a society need to have a truth and reconciliation commission on truth itself. Because the next Trump isn’t going to be as stupidly inept as this one, and we’ve already seen how spineless big tech and our media is at stopping the harm they can do.
I like the look on Alistair Coleman’s dog’s face.
I think MCGA is pronounced, “McGA”; its is Scottish, like Trump.
That’s an insult to
Spineless and also they were assuming powers that were never granted. Trump used Twitter as a mix of official and unofficial activity. We never knew what was coming next. Will it be firings or campaigning or pure complaining? Will it be government official positions or casual discussion or what? Twitter never differentiated or attempted to help its readers discern until in the last 6 months, it started flagging a few things.
Twitter is complicit in this mess, not a white knight, savior of the truth. They gave rise to the situation. We are left to clean up the aftermath.
On the horse/stable analogy, Marina Hyde took it to surreal heights this morning. (The whole article is excellent, but the analogy is extracted below.)
And so to the founding fathers of this level of mass delusion. It was nice to hear from Mark Zuckerberg, who grandly announced he’d blocked Trump’s Facebook and Instagram accounts. This is not so much a case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted as doping the horse, whipping it into a frenzy, encouraging it to bolt, fostering a world in which humans are subjugated by horses, monetising every snort and whinny, allowing the very existence of “humans” and “horses” to become just one of a bunch of competing opinions, and then – only when that one particular horse has outlived its usefulness and seems destined for the glue factory – gently closing the stable door with a self-satisfied little “click”.
ETA Doh! I see I was beaten to it by @MikeR further above.
Not to worry- there are online archives of his tweets. And media and orgs have saved them all for their resources.
Poor old Trumplethinskin.
