I suppose metal detectors/scanners. Fine. That is what we had. I shouldn’t have to take out my laptop or remove my shoes.

So basically, make the current “pre-check” screening the default for everyone? Sounds good to me. With pre-check you get to almost feel like a human being (until you get to the boarding gate…)

The other passengers will beat him/her to within an inch of his/her life, just like they did the last two times someone tried to light their clothing on fire on an airplane.

Most soda taste tests are deeply flawed. They give a person a very small amount of the drinks being compared, in a container that is typically unlike what the will drink out of normally.

Taste bud fatigue for very sweet or very strong flavors can have a big impact on enjoyment. What a person likes in a 1oz taste test might be very different from the last drink of a 16oz bottle. I saw a study a few years ago that said that hearing a (recorded) fizz sound makes flat soda more palatable than flat soda without a fizz sound. I have no idea how you could ever correctly control for all the variables in a taste test.

It supersizes me not at all that they ran extensive taste tests and come up with a total failure by measuring for all the wrong criteria in their taste tests.

Gotta disagree here. Wall Street Journal and others reported that Mohammad Atta was investigating Copperhill so-help-me-gawd Tennessee as a good location for terrorism, prior to 9/11. Airport is the size of a postage stamp.
