They need a dropdown/option thing for “I think the account I am blocking is used by the same person as this other account I am blocking”.

Very valid question. I don’t think it will take a long time. A fringe-enough unpopular opinion will be way too easy to silence, if the process does not have robust enough checks.
Any such defense measure can be used as an attack vector. See e.g. the DMCA takedowns used as opponent-silencing measures on youtube.
Exactly what I was thinking. Also, I’ve seen it happen on moderated forums.
