i understand, i think, what your point is here; but honestly, isn’t a “defense” of one’s country like this one somewhat akin to an argument over who was worse–mao or stalin?
Yeah, “at least we’re not imprisoning kids!” isn’t a great place to find yourself. I was just taking pedantic issue* with Cory’s “leading the world in violating rights” phrasing.
I feel like living here I’m going to find myself in an increasing number of “At least we’re not…” situations over the coming years…
