Unbelievable protest video shows Paris looking like a war zone

PLEASE STOP TO LINK THIS TO FACEBOOK. This is false and crazy. And you know what ? Life goes on in France, we were to the market to buy vegetables this morning, friends are going to see a movie at a theatre …
This have NOTHING to do with Facebook, else the American civil war is due to Samuel morse …
Stop this nonsense boing boing, this is really bellow you to always refer to that (and linking to your previous false post).
And yes there are some clashes with the police, but this is really just around the French presidential « palace », France is not drowning in flames for Marx’s sakes !
And with some luck this Saturday will see the real beginning of an insurrection against our stupid politicians, and this will be because French are tired of the system they live in and politicians selling everything that made France (welcoming refugees, social security, protection for people unemployed, and a decent income) to European institutions.
I’m so mad to read such nonsense here !
Do you even read previous comments on your previous article ?

So he’s a liberal in the classical sense?

When you say “liberal in the classical sense” I think of John Stuart Mill or Tom Paine and the guarantees of freedom of speech and individual rights.

Mr. Macron is definitely not that.

I think of Locke, personally. “Father of Liberalism” and all that.

He was also heavily invested in the slave trade.

In French, liberal means Milton Friedman (Tatcher-Reagan mentor), for economic deregulation, nothing to do with anything’socialist or even anything left.

I’m French. I confirm that they were escorting her to safety.

I know. Classical liberalism is closer to libertarian-capitalism than it is to social liberalism.

White Americans, at least. Sometimes they do it in response to clothing or rumors or the success financial of racial minorities.

Agreed.

Ha! Likely not. Some BB posters do deign to descend into the comments here, but overall, what happens here matters little, compared to the sensationalized front-page posts (like this egregious one – “Hey look! Violence! Fire! And another excuse to slam Facebook too!”) that bring in the money-generating clicks.

The end of late stage capitalism ≠ end of the world

French fashion was always years ahead of NYC…

Meanwhile, here are the heroic, Facebook-defying, Macron-protecting and puppy-loving French police lovingly teaching 150 protesting high school kids a lesson about democracy, in Mantes-la-Jolie:

Or, as someone commented when I found the video:

CE SONT VOS ENFANTS PUTAIN VOS ENFANTS !!!

ETA: The French texts on the video says that this arrest was made because the kids were protesting and someone, apparently, burnt two cars. The youngest of the arrestees was 12, apparently. The police’s treatment of them would probably fulfill a legal definition of “torture”, and I hope some of them go to jail for it, even though we shouldn’t hold our breath.

The exclamation in caps means:

THESE ARE YOUR CHILDREN, FUCK IT, YOUR CHILDREN !!!

I just think it is interesting that the French can’t seem to mobilize like this against any foreign powers, only the namby-pamby figureheads they keep putting into power and then whining about. Where was this warrior spirit during WWII? Why do they always let it get to the level of systemic oppression before they do anything but smoke gauloises and badmouth every other culture with sardonic self-deprecation, all while pretending to be superior to the rest of the planet during their own self-inflicted misery? Boggles the mind, that.

If you’re going to create an account for a one time attempt at humor, at least use something original instead of this tired old trope.
