I believe there should be more woofs in that one!

Surely the best line is “The blood of these whores is killing me!” a line so good that one of the tracks on the soundtrack uses it as a title.

Finally got around the seeing What we do in the shadows… it was fine.

Have you seen Hunt for the Wilderpeople? Also directed by Taika Waititi, totally worth a watch!

The Sam Neill thing? I heard that was good…

Yup! Watched it this weekend, and was well entertained. Rhys Darby has a small part in the movie, too. Lots of beautiful NZ scenery.

Now I’m wondering what Taika Waititi’s Thor movie will be like…

It was pretty funny. Maybe if I watched more reality TV types shows, it would be funnier?

Magnificent Thief, the pilot film for the series It Takes A Thief. A fun spy/caper tv movie with Robert Wagner in the lead with character actor Malachi Throne as his agency boss and John Saxon as the villain. Great bit parts by Raymond Burr, Leslie Nielsen, Rochester, Doug McClure, Wally Cox and Stuart Margolin.

Terrence Malik’s The Tree of Life, imo hugely overrated. I could only get through 20 minutes and by that time I was ready for some knuckle damaging wall punching.

I thought To Catch A Thief was the pilot for It Takes A Thief.

Also, by “Rochester” do you mean the city, or are you talking about Eddie Anderson?

(BTW, is it just me, or does “Thief” look wrong whichever order the e and the i are in?)

No very different plots. And yes Eddie Anderson.

Well, not all that different a plot.

You didn’t mention Susan Saint James. I’l watch anything with Susan Saint James in it. John Saxon, on the other hand, didn’t need a mention, he was in everything made in the 60s and 70s. Um, and 80s. And 90s. And a few in the 50s. And I think he’s in something coming out next year.

I finally watched Dune for the first time. Wow, what a mess, but a beautifully weird mess. Many times I almost turned it off, but Lynch’s touch of his own surrealist style kept me watching to the end.

Which made me wonder, can anyone think of any surrealist science fiction movies? The only thing I can think of at the moment is The American Astronaut. Is there anyone who is the Jodorowsky of space?
