The pink color of flamingos is absorbed from the shrimp they eat. In the dietary absence of shrimp, they are white. Many zoos add the dye to their food so they are the color people expect.
This makes me wonder if you could dye flamingos different colors and have a rainbow flock.
The prerferred nomenclature is “reboing.”
Lots of shrimp and mud in that cement-lined pond. Very natural environment.
Maybe the feeding description is for WILD flamingos and these guys will eventually just order Skip The Dishes like everyone else in captivity.
