Although once considered rodents, lagomorphs like rabbits have been discovered to have diverged separately and earlier than their rodent cousins and have a number of traits rodents lack, like two extra incisors.

Saying they diverged separately is an odd way to put it. They’re evolutionarily right next to rodents. Taxonomists moved them out of Rodentia proper because mammals are mostly classified by teeth, but there would have been nothing wrong about grouping them together…and in fact we do, we just now use the name Glires for that instead.
Ah, so my son’s cat isn’t the only Savannah who needs to play with at least two things at the same time.
Um… I guess a detailed yet unsolicited explainer on rodents could count as ‘a rainbow chaser,’ depending upon one’s perspective…
Just in case it’s not, everyone have a kitten:
I laughed, I snorted, I chortled!
Kitten: “I am nature’s perfect killing machine…but only 24 oz”
That cat does NOT want her to let go. Cats are very good at letting people know when they’re done. That cat was happily hanging there, getting hugged by a little cutie.
Aww, kitten handroll.
