A genuine unicorn:
A wonderful big (200+ pg!) old book that will delight children, those who read it to children, and those who read it themselves. It can be found for quite reasonable prices, too. Mom gave me a copy when I was around 3, so I read it on my own and with her.
Back in the 90s, an old friend had adopted a baby, and asked me for book suggestions. I immediately thought of this one, and bemoaned the now-sad shape my copy was in. Sweetheart that she is, she bought us each a copy, and fell in love with it just as I had done so long ago.
Do click th’ pic - it’s bleedin’ massive and the details are great…the dragon’s heads’ diff personalities (dragonalities?), the pretty (but not plastic-lookin’) lady, the sweet face of The Golden Goose, the wonderfully human eye of that lovely horse, the knight’s so gentle hand on the reins.
Yes, there’s even a unicorn in one of the stories, and a young man must play a sort of prank on him to survive his attack!

this is my cat lyra, she is obsessed with my brother’s leather boots. she has what we call “boot time” which is when my brother leaves them out so she can rub her face all over them and drool because she’s a weirdo. as you can see in the picture she really loves these specific boots.
