Just a friendly reminder, Wikileaks is an arm of Russian Intelligence. That doesn’t diminish the problems with the CIA’s NOBUS policy, but remember this information was released to further the interests of Russia first.

… Sounds like the Russians, and anyone with a reasonable expectation of privacy, have shared interests.

Not me though, I’ll give you my passwords right now, 'cause I’m a patriot!

Just because we occasionally share interests doesn’t mean that our political views are not opposed. I don’t trust any authoritarian to be acting in my best interests.

It’s more that Asange runs to whoever supports his current interest. (Enemy of my enemy, etc.)

Oh, did they go lift that from NSA now?

I realize it’s the Internetz, but nuance, please.

Except that the only files in this release are for a system called Hive, which is a data relay tool. There’s no exploit code.

eta: there’s client-side code for the command & control implant. but no exploits.

My bet - trying to distract from the Paradise papers, and the reasonably clear links they show between Trump and Russia, along with other dodgy Russian dealings. He criticized the Panama Papers heavily, and now he’s basically doing the same shit with the paradise papers, with the most positive thing he had to say being the incredibly back-handed “Well, it’s an improvement on the Panama Papers.”
